Connect Real Estate for the development of Gaetz Historic Apartments at Long and Front Streets and bringing back to life several buildings that were underutilized for more than 20 years to create a more vibrant neighborhood.
Washington Gladden Social Justice Park for the installation of ”Our Single Garment of Destiny” in the park on January 18, 2020.
Outstanding Service
Todd Bemis for his 40-year tenure and dedication with CAPA to care for the city’s historic theatres, and his service on the Capital Crossroads SID Board of Trustees for 20 years.
The Columbus Coalition for the Homeless for stepping up to fill a critical service gap in the downtown by coordinating and staffing Warming Centers for people experiencing homelessness during the pandemic.
Outstanding Achievement
Freedom a la Cart for renovating the building at 123 Spring Street and opening a new restaurant and catering business that helps survivors of human trafficking, heal, learn, and grow.
Industry Columbus Apartments for developing an apartment project on the last underutilized parcel that has transformed downtown’s Long Street corridor between 4th Street and Grant Avenue into a walkable, urban neighborhood.
Unsung Hero
Heidy Carr, Assistant City Attorney, Columbus City Attorney’s Office, for working with the SIDs to address neighborhood safety and public nuisance issues downtown, including the Greyhound Station this year
Outstanding Neighborhood Commitment
State Auto’s Christmas Corner for decorating their headquarters for the holidays that last 90 years with a rooftop Santa Town, thousands of lights, hundreds of Christmas trees, and a life-sized Nativity scene.
