Discovery SID

On the eastern side of Downtown Columbus where arts, knowledge, and culture converge, the Discovery Special Improvement District (DSID) helps property owners create and maintain a safe, vibrant, diverse, distinctive, and walkable mixed-use neighborhood. The focus in the DSID is on safety, homeless outreach, graffiti removal, economic research, community engagement, and creative placemaking.  You can view a map of the DSID boundaries here.

Services

Safety and Security

We have a team of professionals keeping downtown safe and secure. Our safety ambassadors patrol downtown by bike in conjunction with special duty police officers. Our award-winning security network tracks downtown activity by radio in real-time. Together they can respond to situations quickly. Call or text us at (614) 228-5718, we’re here to help.

Homeless Outreach

Our outreach specialists connect people experiencing homelessness with shelter, permanent housing, and other assistance. Each year, they help hundreds of people downtown access services and move off the streets. Call or text us at (614) 228-5718 if you see someone needing assistance. Our specialists engage people on the street and in our office throughout the week.
