Capital Crossroads Ambassadors Recognized by ADAMH

Capital Crossroads SID ambassadors along with representatives from Southeast Healthcare received a Special Award Recognition from The Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Board (ADAMH) for filling existing gaps in crisis services. Due to their work done to strengthen the behavioral health safety net here Downtown, they have earned the title "Parking Lot Samaritans."  The recognition was part of ADAMH's 2022 Annual Meeting on October 18.

Recent changes in operations at Netcare resulted in gaps of care--but not for long. Working alongside Southeast Healthcare, Capital Crossroads ambassadors quickly mobilized and worked together to make sure that people were connected to the timely care they needed. They stepped up, adjusting their personal/professional schedules with little notice to ensure full staffing during overnight hours in the Netcare parking lot over a four-week period. For many, this meant adding an 8-hour shift on top of their regular workday.

ADAMH expressed their gratitude for our assistance, recognizing the hard work and dedication of this team. We thank our "Parking Lot Samaritans" for stepping up and always going above and beyond.
