C-Pass Program Renewal and Reinstating Fares

Author: Kacey Brankamp

Beginning January 11, 2021, COTA will return to charging fares on fixed route and COTA Plus vehicles. Fares for Mainstream and Mainstream On-Demand services will resume on February 1, 2021. COTA suspended fare collection due to the pandemic and safety concerns. You continue to check COTA.com for service updates.

With the renewal of Downtown C-pass for another five years beginning January 1, C-pass users should ensure they have a working credential by January 11. Here’s what you need to know:

  • COTA’s Comprehensive Sanitation Program goes beyond all government requirements. Learn more here.
  • Mobile app users should test the app and create a QR code. Remember that the C-pass does not automatically transfer to a new phone even though the COTA Connector app does. Contact C-pass program staff to transfer the C-pass to the new phone.
  • Photo ID users should make sure they have their card. The cards are good through 2021, despite the printed expiration date. Ignore the printed expiration date. If you lost your card, receive a free replacement at COTA’s Customer Experience Center. If you can’t make it to the Customer Experience Center, contact program staff to make other arrangements.
  • C-pass Account Managers should log into the member portal and begin updating the list of eligible employees. Also, be on the look-out for an email from program staff with updated program agreement terms and conditions. Remember to test your C-pass credential, too.

Contact program staff at (614)-591-4184 or info@downtowncpass.com with any questions.
