Art Tours Designed to Get You Moving and Inspired

The Greater Columbus Arts Council and Can’t Stop Cbus collaborated to develop the Cubs ArtWalks app in response to the pandemic. The app guides users through the extensive collection of indoor and outdoor public art in Columbus, with photos and descriptions of more than 1,200 pieces of public art in central Ohio.

The arts council launched an update to the app which adds themed and curated tours. This allows app users to explore collections of public art that lie within walking distance of one another. Tours include the River Walk Tour and a Tour of Landmark Sculptures by African American artists. Check out the tours here.

Another update is scheduled for this fall, with historic architecture tours to be added to the app database. At that time, the app will also allow users to filter by type of art, as well as to create a personal profile and gallery of favorite public art.

The partnership between the arts council and Can’t Stop Cbus encourages both better health and art appreciation by making it fun to get moving and to find public art and architecture. Read more here.
