Barnes & Thornburg opened its Columbus office in 2009, locating in the Fifth Third building. According to Bill Nolan, the firm’s managing partner, “When our growth necessitated new space in 2012, we considered other parts of town, but quickly decided we wanted to stay downtown.”

“Being downtown gives us the easiest access to the resources our clients need – the courts, government agencies, and the activities and amenities downtown has to offer,” Nolan said.“We are now on the 33rd floor of the Huntington Center overlooking downtown and beyond.”

Barnes & Thornburg is among the 100 largest firms in the U.S. and has experience in virtually all the legal practice areas required to do business in today's global marketplace. But one of the firm’s proudest accomplishments includes a project in downtown Columbus.

“Our Community Development & Tax Credit Financing practice works on tax credit driven real estate deals all over the country, but none are a source of more pride for us than our representation of our client the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing in the re-syndication of the YWCA headquarters on Fourth Street,” Nolan said. “The deal is financing a massive renovation through a combination of federal and state credits.”
