Columbus Foundation Grants to Fund Improvements

Columbus Foundation flower basketsThe Jeffrey Endowment Fund of The Columbus Foundation awarded grants to Capital Crossroads SID for two projects: new flower baskets on High Street and for the Bold Booths public art project. The flower baskets will be installed this spring, while the Bold Booths project will commence in the second half of the year.

The first grant of $10,000 was approved for the purchase and installation of 310 new pole-mounted hood hangers and water-saver baskets for the streetlights on High Street downtown. The second grant of $20,000 is set to fund construction of three thought-provoking and functional architectural installations in downtown Columbus parking lots. The first booth to be funded by this grant was designed by BAWorkshop and will be constructed at the corner of High and Long streets. The Bold Booths project began as part of FindingTime2012, a public arts project held in conjunction with Columbus’ bicentennial in 2012.

“The Columbus Foundation has been a great partner in the SID’s efforts to enrich the downtown environment,” said Cleve Ricksecker, Executive Director of Capital Crossroads SID.
