Downtown Small Business Response & Recovery Grant Program

The Downtown & Short North Arts District Small Business Response & Recovery Grant Program is meant to serve local small businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, and not already received CARES Act Funding from the City of Columbus and/or Franklin County.

The Capital Crossroads and Discovery Special Improvement District will administer nearly $1 million to businesses in the Downtown District. Each eligible business will receive $10,000 until funds run out.

The Application Process is Closed

UPDATE on the Downtown Small Business Response & Recovery Grant Program

Nearly 500 applications were received last week from small businesses seeking a grant from this fund. As required by law, the City of Columbus needs to review each applicant to make sure they are compliant with their taxes.

Because of the volume of applicants, the City of Columbus needs additional time, so we are pushing our award notification back to Friday, December 11.

For those small businesses that applied and meet all the requirements, you will be notified if you received a grant on Friday, December 11. Checks will be available for pick up on Friday, December 18.

If you do not receive an award notification, your application was unsuccessful because:

A. Your taxes were found currently not compliant in any degree by the City of Columbus, or
B. You did not meet all of the eligibility requirements from the City of Columbus.

Thank you for your patience.
