Waste Away: Dog Stations Help Keep Downtown Clean

As we head into the dog days of summer, no doubt many of us are increasing the length and number of walks with our canine companions. Luckily, to keep the streets and sidewalks of downtown Columbus dog waste-free, Capital Crossroads and Discovery SIDs have installed a number of dog waste stations to make doing the right thing just a little bit easier.

With four additional stations installed this year and four installed in 2020, there are now seven dog waste stations in each SID, for a total of 14 downtown. In 2020 alone, roughly 24,000 dog waste bags were used across the waste stations. That’s lots of potential messes missed.
