Support Local: New Openings and New Beginnings

As we emerge more fully from COVID precautions, we encourage you to keep an eye out for announcements from downtown businesses regarding increased capacity or hours.

On that note, The Hills Market has reopened its patio and indoor cafe seating. So, when you stop by to grab some lunch from the salad bar or hot bar, you can take it easy for a few.

Also, the Tortilla and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream locations in Columbus Commons have reopened weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plans are afoot for increased programming in the Commons this summer, and you’ll have the perfect spots for some sustenance. And don’t miss the Food Truck Food Court starting again on June 3 and running Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 28.

Tasty Dawg, which started virtually in December of 2020, opens its first brick and mortar location at 107 S. High St. in early summer. Choose from a wide array of hot dog goodness, including classics like Chicago Dawgs and Chili Cheese Dawgs.

The dogs are quarter-pound, all-beef deliciousness on steamed Bavarian pretzel rolls. Or, check out the Italian sausages or even plant-based brats. Add some super sides (like mac and cheese!) and a scoop of ice cream, and you will have eaten like a Dawg king.

Finally, Seven Studios has reopened its studio at 275 S. Third St. While the yoga and fitness studio has offered virtual classes through the pandemic, they reopened in-person classes in early May. Several in-person classes are offered daily, with online classes still available.
